Full Version: Just cannot build UBCD 2.55 correctly - HELP

First, thank you for this wonderful software. I have built and used UBCD in the past.
My last successful build was 2.5.4

After downloading, installing and creating a CD with UBCD 2.55, the menus still do not work when booted from the CD. The CD will boot, I get some applications in the menu to launch ( mouse, wordpad), but the majority of applications do not work. When selecting an application in the menu, nothing happens.
Also, the CD does not initialize network settings like it used to.

I download Bart PE 3.1.3, UBCD 2.55 and driver pack 1.6 to my Dell PC. Install or unzip Bart PE to my internal hard drive.

I remove the PLUGIN folder and launch UBCD and Driver Pack into the PEBUILDER folder, correctly installing or replacing what is there. I ran the PEBuilder and chose a different folder than default, folder name is UBCDWIN or UBCDWIN255.

When the ISO builds, the size is over 600 MB's. I have read some of the posts on this forum, and I am following their suggestions. I am not using a USB CD or hard drive, I am changing folder names and making sure they are in root, not the desktop.

I have tried building on two different Dell Workstations running XP SP2. One Dell was just rebuilt, one is an older rebuild.
I have built-in CD or DVD drives and IDE hard drives, at least 32X read, 12 X write.
I build using WIN XP SP1 and two different WIN XP SP2 CD's as my Windows source.

What is my problem ?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?
Again, I was successful with 2.5.4. Should I just forget the Driver Pack 1.6 install?

I have created one ISO with BTS included, but that ISO file was over 710 MB, so I leave BTS out.

Thank you.

I may have solved my problem. I noticed in the video tutorial, the CUSTOM (include folders) field is empty.
I have been selecting the PEBUILDER folder for this field. Is this the problem?

That at least explains your HUGE ISO files!! So your created CD now works?? If so, good!

One more note also:

According to the instructions this is not correct for the Driver Pack. Here is a quote from the site:

If you downloaded and are using Version 1.6 of UBCD4Win drivers, simply run the self extracting EXE. When prompted for the location to extract, navigate to your "C:\pebuilder313\drivers" folder.

All seems to be fine. The solution is DO NOT CHOOSE the pebuilder folder as the custom folder.

The driver pack was installed in the correct DRIVERS folder.

Thanx
