I've got a P4 with a northbridge cooler that can't be connected to the motherboard.
Top Left clip *************** Top Right clip
Missing clip **************** Bottom Right clip
The northbridge cooler is held in place by the Top Right and Missing clip (shaped like a hoop - no screw holes) Any idea how it can be held firmly in place? Is there any sort of glue that can be used to secure it in place that won't melt, or is there anything else that can be used?
Or is the only answer to throw it in the bin?

I haven't ever seen replacement parts ( except for the fan itself ) for the hardware on these but...
Look at the rest of your computer cases layout and try to determine if it has a case fan location that you could mount a case fan to provide air flow over the chip... it doesn't require that it is directly on the chip because all you are trying to do is remove the heat from the heat sync area.
Most mid sized cases provide locations for fans to be mounted below or to the side of the hard drive / floppy drive area and also on the rear of the case. Some also provide places on the side and/or top of the case itself. You also need to consider the air flow of the other fans that the case may have. For instance, the power supply will normally have a fan that blows out... so don't mount a fan below it that blows in or you will just circulate the hot air... if this is the only other location for a fan... also have it blow out... remember we are only trying to increase the air flow across the location and an additional fan can do that from most anywhere if placed properly.

The mobo is dead, no output from the graphics card. The graphics card is fine in another PC so something is dead. So I'm going to bin the mobo/cpu as it's just not economical to fix. Cheaper to buy a new AMD bundle than get a new P4 mobo + memory.
