I sucssefully added ghost to the user menu portion, but I needed the USB support for an external dvd burner.
I have tried many a web site to create a cd boot disk with USB support, but none seem to work correctly.
Can anyone help me out with this?
What I need is a bootable CD with USB driver support with GHOST.

Just to be clear....you stated that you added Ghost to your UBCD4Win build, right?? The way you have it worded has me a bit confused.

If this is true, then most of the time all you need to do is have the USB device plugged in before booting UBCD4Win. I'd say about 90% of devices are detected in the project.

If you are talking about a Ghost bootable disc, then I'm sorry I can't help you because I have an old version of Ghost and haven't played with it in a while. Also, you posted your question in the wrong area.

Just to be clear, connect your USB drive BEFORE rebooting your machine and booting the UBCD4Win so that it's ready to go as the UBCD4Win boots and recognizes drives. smile.gif

You'll likely find THIS link usefull. The link at the bottom of the thread is for one of my old Paragon HDM plugins, but it contains the necessary wnaspi32.dll file to fix the Ghost 8.x problem. Of course, I assumed you're using Ghost 8.x, as I can't imagine using Ghost AnythingElse.x in PE.

Thanks for the fix

Ghost 8.2 on UBCD is a great tool to have

I did have the DVD USB plugged in. I am using the GHOST that came wit hthe UBCD 1.6 or whatever the 2003 or so version is.
When I added that ghost to the new Version of UBCD for some reason it did boot up ghost, but not the DOS USB drivers. If somehow I can add the loading of the USB drivers in the sys file , but I do not know how.

So Le tme sum it up. I am very new at this and I am winging it.
I need to add two files the ghostcdr.dll and wnaspi32.dll
Where do I add this in the UBCD files. and do I have to edit any sys file or anything like that to make these fiels run?
I have my ghost directory under the dosapps and inside that i have two files, the exe and the system file.
do I need anything else.

Ahh, it would appear I assumed wrong on perhaps numerous fronts. You've referred to UBCD a number of times - but this forum is UBCD4Win (for Windows). Ghost 2003 will not work in the PE environment. Ghost 9 & 10 are essentially PowerQuest's former DriveImage product which is incredibly bloated compared to Ghost 8.x (Corporate Edition), and requires the .NET framework plugin. Adding .NET alone adds something like 30-50MB to your build (don't remember the exact figure, but it's a lot), then Ghost 9/10 on top of that, which I also recall as being large.

Ghost 8.x is about 2.1MB on my build (I did UPX the files for space considerations). Ghost 8.x is not a DOS app - it is a 32-bit app (though it does have a DOS-like look to it).

So if you are, in fact, talking about UBCD rather than UBCD4Win, I can't help you there.

What I downloaded was UBCD34-basic
I added the ghost that was on the UBCDBASIC the earlier version. SO therefor I beleive the ghost EXE is 8.0 or before.
New error.
I did get the ghost to work, Not to copy from but copy to the hard drive. It starts up and starts the ghosting but then it gives me an error that I need a startup.bat file. Im not sure on that one.
I do have a startup file in there but something else is needed.

Your working with the DOS Ultimate Boot CD. Here's a link to the correct forum...

DigiWiz strikes again, many thanks, you solved a problem I couldn't figure out (one out of four Pcs would load Ghost with CD Support, now they all do)
