I have my XP pro slipstreamed with sp2 and burnt to dvd.

Using bart pe builder, as soon as it starts, it said that it wants ntdll.dll 51.2600.1045 and I have the plain 2600 version.....dah!!

What do I need to do to correct this?

Your source was slipstreamed using either AutoStreamer or the manual M$ method, right?
SteelTrepid
Something may have went wrong during your slipstreaming. Please tell us how or what you used to slipstream. If the name of the program starts with an "N", then don't even bother posting the name.....it's restricted in this forum. If that is the case, then I suggest you use another source and/or slipstream with a program that actually slipstreams correctly.

Yes, I used AutoStreamer.exe to slipstream my two CD's.

I have my org XP Pro CD (of 3-4 rs ago) and the new MS SP2 CD, I have also downloaded the SP2 for network just in case.

I'm working from inside win2000 ... if that matters.

What do I need to do??

Is your Win2K system patched to Service Pack 4?
my ntdll.dll version (in XP SP2) using 3.0 rc5 is:
5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)

Are your install CD's OEM?.... meaning DELL, Gateway, or IBM, etc.

IF I am not mistaken....it's been a while since I've talked to anyone about this and I'm tired, but:

I'm pretty sure that because of MS, we are unable to slipstream a new OS CD when trying to do it on an older OS. Basically, you can't slipstream XP on a 2000 system...but you can slipstream a 2000 CD on an XP system.
I'm pretty sure I remember a conversation with Raptor (the coder/author of AS) where he told me this was not possible and there was nothing he could do about it because of the way MS coded 2000.
I have been told that you can slipstream 2k3 on an XP system, so this doesn't make sense to me. So I'm assuming the incompatibility is only with 2000??

So, do you have an XP system you can access to verify this for us?

...and please confirm that you are building using version 2.6, since your topic title references pebuilder "3.1.10a"
(pebuilder is included in the 3.0 RC downloads)

Yes, my win2000 has sp4 and all patches from MS. It's ntdll.dll is 5.0.2195.2779

The XP pro (Full) CD was bought from MS and the XP SP2 CD came from MS free.

Sorry, forgot to answer you steeltrepid.

Yes, i'll slide in XP drive and boot over to XP and give it a shot and get back to post later.

Update!!
I booted over to my XP pro drive, used autostreamer to update to a xp/sp2 dvd, used alcohol120 to burn the ISO's via Nero.

All things are done and working, I tested both DVD's.........

It's very weird that we can't do this inside win2000 but that seem to be the way it is.
SteelTrepid
Good to see you have it working.
Like I said in my other post, it's been a long time since I talked to Raptor about this so I forget the exact reason and details. All I really remember is him saying that he couldn't do anything about it and that it had to do with MS.
