I dont know if this question is in the right forum! I would like to know more about Pre-Shell and how to customize it and configure settings like the countdown timer. Thanks and I just want to say that I'm very exited about version 3.

Yes, this is the right place. Joshua (the author of PreShell) joined our development team quite a while ago and has been patiently waiting for the rest of us to complete our tasks for 3.0 because the newest version of PreShell is included and debuted in 3.0.

I haven't found the time to play with it enough so I'm not an expert on it. Although I will try my best to help.

NOTE: normally we do not suggest that users "play" in the "oem1" folder, however this is the only way to modify PreShell (at the moment).

You need to go to your "C:\ubcd4win\oem1\Joshuas-PreShell" folder. Now find the "Logon-parameters.txt file" and just read that. It will tell you about every feature of PreShell.
After you figure out what to change, open up the "preshell.ini" file and make your changes.

Have fun!

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm reading it right now.. I hope some documentation about this will come in the future. I think pre-shell is suited for my low-end systems.

Yes, PreShell is suited for low-end systems. biggrin.gif
You can use the RamFile and Pagefile options.
Now, we have released ubcd4win-V3, i have time to work on a better documentation for PreShell. wink.gif

Joshua, I'm using UBCD4win and your Pre-Shell starts on auto. I've tried adjusting the automatic profile in PreShell.ini file to my specific needs, but after starting the ISO I'm unable to use my preferences. Also, I tried a brand new install and used the default settings but I was unable to stop the auto process by moving the mouse in the dialog box. Is there a fix to this problem?

Try clicking within the Preshell area.. I find this works better for me than just moving the mouse

Thank you for the info, it worked!

Do you anything about adding Partition Magic to BCDW custom?
