UPX is a free, portable, extendable, high-performance executable packer for several different executable formats
http://upx.sourceforge.net/
- Changes in 2.01 (06 Jun 2006):
- arm/pe: better DLL support
- dos/exe: device driver support added
- linux/386: Fix --force-execve for PaX, grSecurity, and strict SELinux.
/tmp must support execve(); therefore /tmp cannot be mounted 'noexec'.
- win32/pe & arm/pe: added new option '--keep-resource=' for
excluding selected resources from compression
This version was released a month ago, but I've had some time to play around with it now, and I'm quite surprised with the good results - it is indeed more compatible with exe's that couldn't be packed before, the
"--keep-resource=" switch is great for compressing those big dll's that contain a specific resource that just cannot be compressed, might be worth to update your tools box..
