Would it be possible to add syncback?

SyncBack is our multi-award winning freeware program that helps you easily backup and synchronise your files. Use the Links Below to update to the latest version.

System Requirements

Windows 98SE, ME, NT 4, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003 - Please note that Windows 95 is not supported.

Having just lost a couple of partitions, which hopefully I'll get back to verify that I have all the data before I wipe the drive, having syncback would be really useful for comparing what's on my backup drive to what's on the hdd + plus it would speed up data recovery as I'd only copy across the new/updated files since the last backup.

blink.gifI read the eula for SyncBack Free. What does this mean?

- (ii) copy, distribute, publicly display, or publicly perform content contained in this Freeware other than as expressly authorized by this Agreement

Even though ubcd4win is a also free does it mean this cannot be added to ubcd4win.
The eula does not say anything about distributing it.

It probably means that WE can't add it to the project unless we get permission first ( providing they are willing to allow it of course ). It's pretty standard to not allow distribution without prior approval... even UBCD4Win states something similar so that we can control who may distribute it.

OK, so if I make a plugin for Syncback do not include any of the syncback files. Just provide directions on where to copy files so the plugin will work.

Correct.. that is the proper method to use when you haven't gotten permission to distribute something. This way it is the users responsibility to ensure they are in accordance with the license agreement.

Syncback Free plugin:

You must install SyncBack free on computer then copy files over for plugin to work correctly.

Thanks heatmizer smile.gif

Hopefully Steel will want to add this and we can get permission to distribute it on UBCD4Win. It would certainly speed up data recovery with a readable drive.
