I went to work today trying to figure out why my AutoStreamer gives me this error and i decided to test it out on the Win XP Pro CD w/ sp1 we have there. And it worked perfectly (problem is this CD is for work and licensed thru them... so im hesitant to use that even as a UBCD).... anyhow long story short i was able to slipstream sp2 into it and create an .iso to burn to a CD.

here's where it gets sticky... the .iso that AutoStreamer created is 783MB, 83MB over my limit for my CDRs. Is this normal and will UBCD still do its thing and create a file that will fit on a CD? can i get CDRs with a higher capacity (i thought 700mb was the biggest)?

Thx,

This has been a nifty little problem using XP SP1 CDs to slipstream SP2 on. There is usually SP1 files left behind still on it which take up space, not counting the fact that whoever made that XP SP1 CD may have put other stuff on it or if it came from MS, then who really knows. I would suggest using a XP Gold CD (or just a normal XP CD with no SPs in it) and slipstream with that. Though, I know I used the one at my work which I manually slipstreamed SP1 into a long time ago and used it with Autostreamer to slipstream SP2 and it worked fine creating an iso with a size of around 600MB. I'd say if it goes above 650MB and especially 700, then there's an issue with the XP SP1 CD you are using. Try another. smile.gif

I'm doing some searching in the Neowin.net forums so hopefully there's an answer there, somewhere within the 30+ pages of posts under AutoStreamer... smile.gif

I replied to your original post on the error and should have the solution you need. biggrin.gif
