I have not really seen this type of plugin so I thoght I should share it. I find it to be useful sometimes.
What I have done is added an entry in the nu2menu for quick access to some, for me, useful documents.
There are three examples in the .xml of how to open .pdf .txt and .html documents, nothing complicated.

This is a good idea. We do have a few documents that we created a while back to add additional documentation to the project. However including this type of documentation would be awesome!! I want to see those files you have!! I would love to have someone that had the time to create and/or add documents that would help end users. Are you or do you want to become a part of our "beta testers" team?? Or maybe just be someone to help with documentation???

Not trying to sound negative now, but I have to mention it. Since 3.0, there are file associations setup. It's not necessary to direct a "htm" file to FireFox because by default in 3.0 it will be opened in Opera.....well unless you changed the default browser association. I think this holds true for TXT and PDF files.....but I could be wrong. I've been busy answering emails today so I haven't had the chance to double check this, oh yeah and I'm watching TV on my other computer so I can't shut that down to test.....sorry.

Regardless, excellent stuff!!

The file association might be true, (have not really tested it) but if you decide that you want to open a certain document you first have to locate it wherever you are storing it on the disk and then run it, with the menu entry there is no need for extensive search, you just click it and it is opened with your preferred application.

I have not tried to add it to the menu without having a specific program opening it, do not think that would work

I am not a beta tester, have to ponder on it.

(Located the file association in SystemCore.inf, so now I HAVE TO play around with that for some time)
