I burned a UBCD4win as i should. I booted up my crashed computer the first time without any problems, but then after i rebooted the computer . I can't boot from the CD at all ! I come to "Starting CD...ok" , then it freezes ! What shall I do ? It worked the first time I used it, but not after the reboot , ain't that strange ?

Any answers ?

Please provide some info on your system... what version of Windows you built with... what you did the on the previous boot that did work... if you have tried to boot more than just one other time etc.

Right now you have given no information to go from.

i made my boot cd from Windows XP Professional SP1-cd. When I boot the first time, i was trying to make a partition on one of my hdd:s. To finish that, i had to restart the computer. So i did, since then I haven't been able to boot from the CD again =/

I'll hope that help a little bit more =)

How far into the boot process does ubcd4win go?

When EXACTLY does it freeze?

Sounds like a failing hard drive, or a corruption issue.

There are options to run checkdisk durring the bootup, but it may already be too late.

What steps are necessary when building with XP SP1a?

▫Disable- DComLaunch Service, it is only to be used when building with SP2.
▫Enable- LargeIDE Fix (KB331958), this hotfix is needed for SP1 or you could have hard drive corruption.
... just a possibility....

THATS A GOOD POINT!!

If he failed to read the instructions & booted a system that has a large HD without making the required correction, then there is a good chance that the drive is now corrupt & needs some attention.

I really hope that the HDD isn't corrupt!! No matter what we do with the instructions, FAQ, etc., a lot of people just do not want to or think they have to read the instructions for the project??
With the emails I've received and posts in the forum over the past couple of days, I'm thinking we have a bad situation here.
