Hi all, firstly can i just say thanks to everyone involved in this project, total respect. And also thanks for the speedy response to my registration.
I think i downloaded, extracted & built the UBCD4Win correctly and burning the image to cd seemed to be successful also. However when ive tried it out on mine & my daughters pc all i get is the flashing underscore in the top left corner & then the operating system loads & not the UBCD4Win. I didnt get any errors or warnings etc during the build. But im such a novice i dont know how i managed to build it & ive no idea what the problem could be? Any pointers would be grately appreciated,thanks..

Did you change the boot order to boot from CDROM first?

With what you have reported, I'm getting the "feeling" that the ISO might not have been burnt properly?
What program did you use to burn the ISO image? Did you select a "burn image file" or similar option to burn it?
If you burnt it as a data cd or tried to add boot information to your CD, then you did it wrong.

Hey guys.. Yeh i changed the boot order in the bios so i know thats not my problem but thanks, its sometimes the little things we forget..
I used Easy Audio data cd burner to do the job. I clicked on the burn ISO image & it took around 20 minutes to complete & said it was successful. Ive only used this program once to burn an ISO & that one worked but was completely different to the UBCD4Win,it was the Petter Nordahl password reset program.

Sorry i forgot to mention that i used a dvd to burn to as the data cd's we have are only 171M & the dvd is 4.7GB,could that be my problem do you think?

The DVD shouldn't be the problem, though Roxio could, as Roxio is horrible, lol. I'd say use a different burning program (my fav is Nero) and try again. Always make sure to use the Burn ISO as Image option, or similar, and if you have the options available, always make sure Finalize CD and Disc-At-Once are selected. smile.gif
