Like I said in the PM reply I sent, try using 7-Zip to "zip" them up as it gives the best compression. Here's an example picture of the best settings (though you must change the dictionary size depending on how much RAM you have, as noted in the picture, memory requirements for compressing...):
Actually, if you don't create an SFX archive, it compresses a little better, but then the person on the other end who you send to, would need 7-Zip to open it.

In the PM I replied back to, I gave you my email address. Send them as an attachment as long as it's not over 6MB.

I can give you a Gmail invite? I think it allows 10mb upload not to mention it allows 1gig of space. I will gladly host them upon request on my personal server, but it's not always up so you would have to email/IM me to have me load it up as I just use Guildftp on my personal computer for such things.

With Digi's permission i can distribute them...
By all means, feel free... my plans are to someday fairly soon (maybe with a month or so) to release and make available all my plugins. Just have to get them organized and create help files for many plugins to show the required files.

I like my current email service. Only 15MB of space and 6MB of attachments, but the spam blocking capabilities and how it can take like my other 5 email accounts' mail into it's and also apply the spam blocking to that and whatnot else, it's frickin awesome. I can either use it on the web or through Outlook or something. I love it.

using your own email addy, then post the link you are given, as a d/load addy, good for 7 days

I just decided to temporarily put them on my web host so here's a link for everyone:
Norton Plugins
It's a self-extracting exe file that contains a couple more zip files and some instructions in a text file. Extract them wherever and then read the instructions for futher details.
Enjoy and let me know if the download was fine and everything worked. I still haven't had a chance to test them yet, even though I have them ready.

I've downloaded LittlBUGer's link twice and found that the ZIP files fail to open..
Can I get these from somewhere else?
LittlBUGer
Nov 4 2004, 12:34 AM
You probably got a corrupted download. The initial exe shouldn't require anything to open, it opens by itself and the zips within need a program like WinRAR or WinZip to open. Try redownloading the file with a download manager like Getright or something, and then let us know. If it still doesn't work, I can send you the files manually if needed, as they work fine here.

Thanks.
WinZip would not open it, but 7-Zip can.
LittlBUGer
Nov 14 2004, 06:37 PM
Ummm... like I said above, it's a self-extracting file. It doesn't need anything to open it with. All you need to do is double-click it and tell it where to extract and it will extract. If it gives an error, then you have a corrupted download and must download it again. If the only way you got it to open is by 7-Zip, then you either downloaded it strangely and it got corrupted or your system is setup strange that it didn't want to self-extract it. Anyway, glad you got it to work.

Yes thats right. My comment relates to WinZIP not being able to decode the ZIP files after they were extracted from the self-extracting file. It was reporting that it is an "invalid archive".
I noticed that you made the self-extracting using 7-ZIP and then assumed that you used the same program to create the ZIPs.
7-ZIP opens them OK.
Any way I was suprised that WinZIP could not open the ZIPs.
Origonally I thought that 7-ZIP must make invalid archives. But a few quick tests showed that anything I made with 7-ZIP, I could read with WinZIP.
Thanks for the files.

Nov 15 2004, 06:29 PM
Oh, I see what you meant. Actually, I didn't make the zip files, the creator of the plugin did and then he sent them to me. I just used 7-Zip to put them in a self-extracting exe file for everyone else. The zip files, from what I remember, opened fine with WinRAR (I hate WinZIP, WinRAR is MUCH better).

yea, if this is still the norton plugin i got from Digi i used WinRAR to archive it zip style because i didnt know if everybody had winrar or not.

I guess this is the right place...
I recently installed paragliders prescanner/updater....The plugin does update, and then when I run the actual prescanner it comes up and says "scan error" and crashes...I followed the steps exactly...Anyone got a clue here...
Thanks,
Tony

Well, my new dedicated server has been going crazy every since I got it this weekend (it's been crashing every night for some reason---at least services running on it have been crashing), so that may be the reason. Otherwise, it may be because the file isn't there anymore since I may have accidentally deleted it. I will check it out when I can.

You may or may not get a response here as this is quite an old topic and I have no idea where it went in the end. I still don't have a Norton plugin (though I woudn't mind hosting one) so if anyone does please let us know. Thanks.

It may be worthwhile to post some of these plugins on your site as additions if people would like tham. Especially since I have used the same Ghost 8 plugin since I found Bart's PE as it is in the default load out of his program at least back then. Minus the ghos6t files of course but the plugin was freely avail;able.

Well, plus the one that I have has the corrected menu layout so Ghost resides in the Disk -> Backup section.

I'll post it on my site soon, though I still don't have the NAV one. If you have it, please send it to me at

can i get a list of necessary files from our legal ghost installation to put into the files sub-folder?

The list of files can easily be found in the inf. Open it in Notepad or such and you will see the files it i looking for. Also from the plugins config section, if you click help it should bring up the list of files it needs as well.
