Full Version: What About Restore CDs?

I did not see this mentioned in the FAQ.

I have an eMachine. Inexpensive but gets the job done. Of course, it only has a single restore CD for everything. Will this work to create the Windows UBCD?

If not, are there any ideas on getting a boot environment to run these Windows tools? I have a lot of friends and family that keep coming to me for help. Anything to get to fewer CDs and hopefully not even a floppy would be great.

I found this site through UBCD. I already have F.I.R.E. and Knoppix, but needed something more along the lines of Windows UBCD\UBCD. I plan to create a UBCD ASAP.

Thanks for all the great work! I found some great tools I had not encountered before. I just started making a list yesterday of all the things I keep needing on CD. Even if I can't make the Windows UBCD right now, all the great tools collected here are worth it.

TIA!

Sorry, I just saw that this is possible under another topic in CD Creation Questions.

I suggest this be added to the FAQ.

Yea, sorry about that. I'm the one who usually keeps the FAQ up-to-date but lately life has been hectic so I haven't had time. I'm glad you figured things out though. I would also suggest you try making a combo CD of the UBCD and the WinUBCD. That way you should have everything you need. The guide to do so is HERE. smile.gif

Hey LittlBUGer -

Your link is using the wrong domain name. biggrin.gif

The link to combining the UBCD and UBCD4Win is UBCD / UBCD4Win Combo

Yea, sorry about that. That post is nearly a year old, lol, so it's using the old domain. Thanks! smile.gif
