Hy everybody.

I have problems with using the Kaspersky 7 plugin.

No problems with discovering the viruses but he cant delete many of them.
For example the free-av software has no problems of deleting the viruses .....

What can be the problem

Kasperky says everytime he has not enough space on the ramdrive but 98 Mb free is normaly enough.

Does anybody has although problems ?

Thanks

Double check the free space... MyInfo ( the util used to post basic info on the screen ) does not refresh so the value you see is what the ramdrive starts with... not what it may have left after loading a program onto the ramdrive ( which is done with the antivirus/antispyware utils ) .... You probably have at least 40Mb less than you think and possibly more.

After running each antivirus/antispyware util.. its also usually recommended to clear the ramdrive for that very reason... note that clearing the ramdrive will also remove the quaratined items if that is where they are placed.

Anytime I have seen this problem is after Kaspersky has found 100+ viruses. Basically it is because of the backup feature in Kaspersky.
It's not a great workaround but it works, remove as many viruses as you can. Stop the scan, shut down Kaspersky, tell it yes I know the backup/quarantine files will be deleted, and then restart it and do another scan.

One other suggestion is to clear the ram drive while Kaspersky is running and then try to delete a few more viruses. Repeat until all viruses have been deleted. This method is a pain so I would probably just go through the scan again, I usually don't have time to keep telling it to delete then clear the ram drive and then delete more files again. Plus eventually that method stops working.

And moving the Backup Directory to the harddisc ? I think must be a registry entry for moving this directory to the harddisc. ?

This could be a solution .

Thanks

I don't like anything being moved to the hard drive just in case there is a need for data recovery.
Another better solution would be to create another UBCD4Win disc to use on systems with more memory and have it pre-configured with a 256MB ram drive. Or just catch PreShell during the boot process and change the size there manually every time you boot.
