Full Version: ubuntu plugin doesn't work with ubuntu 7.1

I just successfully created a MULTIBOOT cd with:

a) ubcd4win (3.1) containing almost all plugins (for example kasperksy 7 and lot of others plugins not included as default)
cool.gifKNOPPIX 5.1

The process was quite stright. I download knoppix multiboot plugin from http://www.ubcd4win.com/forum/index.php?showto...aded&start=, unzipped it in Multiboot003, created and burned iso.

The problem is that ubuntu plugin doesn't work. I followed the same steps used for KNOPPIX and the building process works perfectly without any problem but when I choose UBUNTU during boot options, the ubuntu screen appears but after 1 minute the following screen appears:

BYSYBOX v1.1.3 (Debian 1:1:1:3...) BUILT-IN Shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands:
(initramfs)

I tried 3 times to rebuild but I have always the same problem: image iso is created successfully and NO errors are present in UBCD4WinBuilder.log:

I suspect the problem could be related to the plugin that doesn't work with ubuntu 7.1.
Did someone already tried to use ubuntu multiboot plugin? If not, how can I contact the author of the plugin?

Ok I read the post but I didn't find neither info about next release plans or about author's information. I would contact them and make a small donation in order to accelerate his development. I love open source project like this and sometime I offer some € or $....

Thanks

Ops.... rolleyes.gif

Can you estimate when next release will be available? I'm very interested!
pcuser
I'm downloading 7.10 now (about an hour left). I'll post back here after I see what the new layout looks like and let you know.

HERE'S a plugin for Ubuntu 7.1

I don't do this with any hope or thought for money and a "thank you" is more than enough!!! Donations are always greatly appreciated but are NEVER required.

Enjoy!

Hello,

Thank you very much for releasing an updated plugin. Someone might want to update the link in the "multiboot" plugin sticky.

I am an avid user of Kubuntu rather than ubuntu. Usually the ubuntu plugin works without issues. However, I was going to try the new live iso that kubuntu released that has KDE 4.0 in it. However, your new plugin does not work for this. Link to kubuntu is http://www.kubuntu.org/

Is there any possibility of you making a kubuntu specific plugin for the newest kubuntu release?

In the mean time ... I obviously will be using the regular kubuntu 7.10 version ... as this works without issues.

Thanks PCuser, it inspired me to add it to my USB multi-boot thumbdrive. Runs real fine from there!
