Rescue Disks Tools
Posted 1 Dec 2009
I used UBCD 4 WINDOWS to chase viruses, crack pw and other things. It is a great tool; however, I wanted more antivirus, av, programs. I was looking to building my own rescue disk with av.
Trinity rescue kit (beta?)
OS:LINUX
works with windows
Experience: new to me
USB: YES ( I did not explore it)
Adding programs:Looks like a major rebuild
I found trinity rescue kit at http://trinityhome.org which has several av programs. It also allows cloning upto 30 computers. Hard disk programs and much more. I tried it out and there were nice ideas. I am waiting for the next release. I still have it in my tool kit.
Sardu

web virus scanner using the browser
Posted 26 Aug 2008
There are several free web virus scanners on the web that can be runned from the browser such as internet explorer. I have tried to run the scanners but the activex was disabled. I enabled some of the activex but it did not worki and I ran out of time for testing. Does anyone know if the browser scanners are a subset of the product or are they have the latest defs? Has anyone tried it? Setting up the browser with the scanners urls would be straight forward and it would be another set of tools for the cd or thumb drive. -
malware
Posted 28 Jul 2008
I have had to use the malwarebyte program to remove a stubborn program, antivirusxp2008. Adware did not find the program and some other programs had trouble. I did not have time to try other programs on the UBCD. Has anyone information regarding the malwarebyte program? Is it possible to add to the list of programs?
