The grid forum had a lot of discussion pertaining to the slashdot article I referenced previously. This is old, but still relevant.

My PC's are still running the agent. I intend to continue support. :)

In case you want to see what they said at the time, check these links:

      Change from:

The Ultimate Boot CD for Windows Team

As a convenience to existing members, could you change the team name please. It would be simple enough to create a new team with the correct name, but then everyone would have to quit the "old" team and join the "new" team. I suspect that the existing data would not be transferred to the new team.

Our team logo needs to be changed too.
It is currently linked to the (team) project founders' server.

Well, thanks for reminding me of this. I changed the pic to the good one, as the only reason I used the other because they "suggested" a certain max image size, but I guess it accepts any size.

As for the Team Name, yes, as you said, I would have to create a new team, everyone would have to re-join, and nothing would be transferred over, so I'm not sure if we want to do that or not, or maybe we should do it now in case more people join (though I doubt that will happen was we've had the team for some time now with barely any people joining). Anyway, I guess it depends on what other want to do. Any suggestions? :)

CURRENT STANDINGS: Listings in bold seem to be active. Arctic Wolf is still kicking butt!

I really expected more participation, based on our user base, but this is not a contest.
I can understand, though. It seems like the agent needs to be re-registered everytime the servers go down. Pain in the butt!

I'm sorry for not being active for.... wow, a whole year and a half! But I'm coming back now with 3 computers that will be doing more work on this wonderful project! Hopefully we can get more than just a tiny 8 people group going here too! :D

Also, I must, as I've said before, I'm sorry I can't edit/change the Team name, but that's just how it is. As for the United Devices program, I see not much has changed at all, except for the screen where you get the see the protein. Wow, that looks awesome now. :)

Come on everyone, join this wonderful cause and help make the UBCD4Win Team one of the best! :)

I use to do this years ago. I did try to recover my old account and my points, but I think that was my old junk hotmail account that was shut down. I've got one comp added. I'll get my laptop and my wifes sometime over the next week.

I used to run it a while back and the reason I do not anymore will make Randy very happy!! Due to heat issues with some Intel processors, I stopped using it. I also worry about the constant load being put on my systems. I do not want to deal with one of my children crying because their computer is down and I cannot afford to fix it, I also cannot afford to replace any components in my system.

However, I do now have a competitive feeling in me. How many systems do you guys have running in your "profile"?? I'm thinking I need to kick some ass by installing it on 4 of the 6 systems I have running almost constantly.

I have my 2 computers at home and my PC at work running it all of the time when they are on, which means my PC at work nearly 24/7, my own PC barely at all, and my wife's PC, half of the time. :)

Your welcome. I use the boot discs quite often, so I might as well donate some spare resources towards the team. :)

I installed the client on my two work pc's, one of which is running Vitsa, in case anyone was wondering, it runs really well on Vista
