there's a tool on UBCD...
Are you talking about our CD, the UBCD4Windows, or the original DOS UBCD?

Well currently we do not have a good partioning tool on the project. Writing a partitioning tool takes a lot of coding and time, very few authors are willing to distribute it as freeware.
However, the new version of the project will have the MMC tools that are built into XP. I have them running in QEMU on my system at the moment. I need to burn this "beta" version of 2.5 to CD and see how they behave in a true environment. You won't be able to resize the partition, but you will at least be able to create NTFS partitions....I think.
Once I get everything finished up later tonight I will release the new version.

Thkz for resp, my WinXp don't works also in safe mode (WinXp logo appears then nothing....), i don't know why...
So i thought to make a new partition and install a new copy of the SO.

If you don't feel like spending the time trying to troubleshoot and figure out the error. I would suggest that you just boot with your XP CD. Just ignore the mentions that a previous installation exists. Just overwrite it and repartition. BTW, what SP does your XP CD include? If it doesn't have SP2 then I would also suggest you use a working system to create a new XP CD slipstreamed with SP2, it will save you a lot of time. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Have you tried just using your XP CD to do a repair installation of XP? Have you tried using our CD and running Check Disk (chkdsk /r) ? Either of those may fix your problems.

I too, am in need of a plug-in for creating partitions. Not so much resizing them. Is there any commercial products I could use for this? I have version 8 of powerquests partition magic. Is there a plugin I can use with this tool?
TIA

The new version (2.5) will hopefully be released tomorrow. It will include MMC. You should be able to create, delete, and format partitions with it. I'm sorry, haven't had the chance to fully test it. I'm not at that phase yet. I'm still stuck trying to get everything to work properly (using QEMU)....and then will move onto the next phase, real system testing.

@Revo
You could always download one of the many Linux LiveCDs (System Rescue CD, Knoppix, etc...) Most of them have QTParted, which does support NTFS resizing.
@Milt
You can always use Diskpart, the Microsoft command line equivalent of the MMC Disk Manager....or just wait for v2.5 to come out with the MMC tools. If you seach on the 911 CD Forums, you'll find a few different plugins for Partition Magic 8 (as long as its v8.0 or 8.01. v8.02 required activation).
Cheers
