I have been using Bart PE beta version with no problems. I downloaded ubcdwinv25 and the drivers. changed Bart PE plugin to plugin1 and extracted all the files into the PE folder I created. I was able to burn the cd just fine.

When I went to test the cd I received the following error message.

file\i386\system32\c_1252.nls
could not be loaded
The error code is 14.

What is that? What has to be done to correct this?

Thank you.

There are fairly few .nls files that are REQUIRED for PE to load, but this is one of them... the required list is:
C_1252.NLS
C_437.NLS
CTYPE.NLS
L_EXCEPT.NLS
L_INTL.NLS
LOCALE.NLS
SORTKEY.NLS
SORTTBLS.NLS
UNICODE.NLS

There are only a couple of possiblilties why you'd get this error:

1) You don't have this file on the CD (highly unlikely)
2) the file you do have is corrupt (highly likely)

Of course, you should have your XP install files copied somewhere to your HD to make the process faster. It is possible your C_1252.nl_ (from your install folder or CD) is corrupt, meaning it does not extract properly.

the md5 of C_1252.nl_ is: 48C34B108DC0FDD11CD35EF0FDBE3B44
the md5 of C_1252.NLS is: ACB769EC498FB62316EAB45ADB680F22

If yours do not match, your files are corrupted.

So you check the md5 of the file on your HD and CD... if the file on CD does not match file on HD (or whereever you're installing from) the problem is a bad burn - burn at a slower speed or use different media.

Try again. The project does not support Bart's beta.

From How to Build:
"These instructions are now for the latest version of Bart's PE© (3.1.3). The latest version of UBCD4Win is now certified (well, by me) to run and utilize all new changes in the latest version of Bart's PE©"

I just installed PEBuilder 3.1.3 and then extracted the UBCD4 Plugins and Drivers to the c:\pebuilder directory. I left everything at the defaults and when I try to boot the CD I get the same error. I checked the MD5 on the file c_1252.nls and it matches what it is supposed to. I need some help here.

Ok, I was able to build the CD without using the UBCD4 Drivers add on. It is something with the Drivers addon that makes me get that error. I'd still like to figure out what is causing the problem.

Which drivers did you use and where exactly did you extract them? If you used the 2.01 ones, did you follow the installations instructions properly for them? Thanks. smile.gif

I followed the instructions HERE. I downloaded the files HERE and HERE. And followed these instructions for adding the BTS Drivers to the UBCD Driver Addon HERE

I am using the 2.01 Drivers Add-on and BTS Driver Packs. I don't know what the problem could be. Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you tried using the old drivers? Also, did several command prompt windows appear when using the new drivers during the pebuilder process? Thanks. smile.gif

I have not tried the older Driver Add on. I do have the autobuild.cmd in my directory and from what I read that is a good thing. It does run the command prompt windows. I get an error though. Here is the last chunk of my log file. It didn't create the ISO even though I had that option checked.

Obviously that error is why it's not working. I would suggest changing the final .iso file path when you go into pebuilder. Never put anything to an area with spaces in the folder/path name. Right now you have it being created on your Desktop. Change that to somewhere on the root of your drive, like C:\UBCD4WinISO or something. Let me know how it goes when starting everything over from scratch. smile.gif

What is this Sort Nu2Menu thing? Do I need it?
tsiedsma
Disabling that Sort Nu2Menu seems to have done the trick.
webmedic
yes but if you look at the line number in your nu2menu xml file you will be able to find out which module is causing the error and fix it.

The sort nu2menu is great for debugging you nu2menu xml fils but yes if there are errors in it then you keep getting those errors until you fix all of them.

There were quite a few errors I had to fix before it would build.

Sorry I didn't read this earlier or i would have commented on it. Or that is sorry for the waste of your time. And thanks for any bug reports.
