Hi guys, im new to this board, so be nice smile.gif

whilst running a build on UBCD4Win Pe Builder v3.1.10a i get the following error messages in the log file and the build stops

Processing INF file "C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Desktop\UBCD4Win\plugin\Multiboot-003\ubcd\ubcd.inf"
Section: SourceDisksFolders
Error: Cannot find folder: files

&

Processing INF file "C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Desktop\UBCD4Win\plugin\Multiboot-003\WindowsCMDC\ubcd.inf"
Section: SourceDisksFolders
Error: Cannot find folder: files

I have checked and both files seem to exist, however it seems as though they are not recognised. Any ideas on what is causing this?

You made the number one mistake.. you installed and built the project in a path with spaces in the name.... read the how to build pages to make sure you didn't miss something else... http://www.ubcd4win.com/howto.htm

Thanks, i was actually working off another how to site, which did not mention anything about the spaces in the paths.

Will try again. Many Thanks for your help.

Ok now im having the same problem again whilst trying to build the cd and i have shifted the the UBCD4WIN folder to the root of the c drive.

Any ideas why i would be getting this now? The only thing i have done (from memory) since last time was add a few more plugins, but surely i would be getting a different error if one of the plugins was causing the problem right?

So you get the exact same error as in your first post but you re-did everything from scratch from a folder on the root of your drive? smile.gif

The ubcd(dos) plugin has to be configured properly to work.
You cannot just enable the plugin manually, use the config button to build the plugin for you.

The solution is posted here....
http://www.ubcd4win.com/forum/index.php?s=...ost&p=31536

The config file has to be replaced due to a small error in the one included with the download.

BTW:
You should NOT have a "ubcd.inf" in the \WindowsCMDC" plugin folder.
You should re-extract the archive & start over to make sure you have a good download
& MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE MD5 HASH of the download to rule out a corupted file.

I shifted the folder from my desktop to the root drive on the PC and ran a build.
Worked perfectly the first time then i started playing around with the plugins and adding more, customizing the DOS boot menu to include Partition magic boot disks image etc and then it gave me those errors again sad.gif

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I have followed the link and updated the file however i still get the same errors.
I have also removed the "ubcd.inf" file from the \WindowsCMDC" plugin folder and while it fixes that error, the other error still remains.

Did you press the config button in the builder when the ubcd(dos) plugin was highlighted?

Take a look in the multiboot-003\ubcd folder & see if it contains a files folder. You must make sure the files have been extracted from the ubcd.iso file before using the plugin. Run the script again & choose to reset the plugin to its original state. Then allow it to extract the iso for you. You should be able to download the ubcd(dos).iso & place it in the UBCD4WIN (root of build) folder & the config script should be able to find it there. Check to make sure the ubcd(dos) download is complete & not corupted by checking the md5 hash of the file.

The "Config Script" was made to make the process easier & when everything works as prescribed it does, but when something has gone wrong it's hard to figure out the exact solution.

I still have to express that you really should delete the current ubcd4win folder & start fress to make sure nothing else has been changed & please check the md5 hash of the ubcd4win.exe download.

Ok. I have managed to get it working by removing both offending files. Now the cd builds without a problem.
However now i seem to be having problems with one of the boot disk images i have built (partition magic), but i will play around with it a bit longer and if i still have problems will open a new thread.

Thanks heaps for your help guys, keep up the good work! biggrin.gif
